Creativity and Environmentalism

A century ago,

inside Notre-Dame de Paris, someone said:


“Humans try to reach the stars,
to carve their stories
into stained glass and stone.”


Now,

I stand in a pile of trash,

and I can still carve my story—

on plastic,

on metal.


I’m sorry.

I’ve made more trash again.


Someone once tried to create “eco-friendly art.”

Ironically,

they ended up producing

a mountain of new garbage

in the name of creativity.


I don’t want to be that kind of person.
